DIRECTIONS
  1. Add 1 teaspoon of POW CALC into a one gallon container and mix it with one gallon of water (tap water, RO or deionized water)
  2. Dissolve POW- CALC completely
  3. Do not add more than 2 teaspoons to a one gallon container.
  4. Adding more than what is required may end up with undissolved solution at the bottom of the water.
  5. Only use dissolved solution (clear calcareous water).
  6. Do not use undissolved solution

** Do not keep mixed solution for more than one week
** Use mixed solution within the same week to prevent calcium carbonate precipitation.

MAIN FUNCTION Natural seawater contains about 400 mg/liter of calcium (400 ppm).  Calcium is one of the most important elements in the ocean.  Many marine organisms such as corals, fish, invertebrates, and algae need calcium to assist in the formation of hard skeletons, bones, tissues and shells to enhance optimal growth.  Aquatic organisms are continuously absorbing calcium.  Therefore, it must be replaced (supplied) as much as it is being consumed.  POW- CALC restores the needed calcium for aquatic organisms.
POW- CALC reacts with phosphate chemically in the water and makes a precipitation of calcium phosphate.  This reaction removes phosphates which is the main cause for excessively and raises pH and carbonate hardness in the water.
SPECIAL NOTES
  • The solubility of POW- CALC in aqueous solution decreases with increasing temperature.  The maximum grams which can be dissolved in the water is 1.2g/L at 25 degree Celsius
  • Maintain pH around 8.2-8.3 and Carbonate hardness 3 to 4 meq/L (150 to 200 ppm or 8.5 to 11 dKH)
  • Maintain calcium level (Ca#7) around 400-450 ppm
  • Before adding POW-CALC check calcium level with Won Calcium Test kit.
  • Then add solution slowly to water until it reaches the desired result.
  • Solution dissolved in a one gallon container can deliver about 2850 mg of calcium (if adding this solution to a 55 gallon tank, the calcium level will increase to about 15 ppm).
  • POW- CALC contains calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide.
