  • Automatic protection device activates when sensor wiring is disconnected or shorted.
  • Double heating tube
  • Very durable & reliable
  • Safe & easy temperature control
  • Aquarium IC thermostat uses IC to control the heater to adjust desired aquarium temperature
  • Operating temperature range: 68º  F to 93º F
  • Ideal for SALTWATER & FRESHWATER
  • Available sizes are: 50 watt, 75 watt, 100 watt, 150 watt, 200 watt, 250 watt, 300 watt, 350 watt & 500 watt

SPECIAL NOTE

1. Heating tube can be positioned in either a vertical or horizontal position in the water.
2. Temperature controller can be used to adjust water temperature of reef tanks. Ensure that any metal Halide lamp is positioned at least one foot (30 cm) above the tank surface.  Metal Halide lighting position is very crucial during summer months because the lamp will continually heat water even after the heater has automatically shutoff after reaching set water temperature.  The Metal Halide lamp continually contributes to the heating process through its fluorescent lighting.  It is advisable to adjust light output with a dial or digital temperature control unit.

INSTALLATION

1. Place the heater tube unit in water in either vertical or horizontal position.  Press two suction cups firmly to glass to adhere heater unit to aquarium.  For best results, position the heater towards the bottom of the aquarium in a location that water circulates freely or use a power head (pump) to create the water circulation to ensure uniform heating temperature of water.
2. Set the desired temperature by turning the temperature dial.  Wait five minutes until the heater tube is acclimatized to the aquarium water temperature.
3. If the temperature sensor unit separate from heater unit, adhere the temperature sensor unit by firmly pressing the suction cups to the aquarium.
4. Plug the power cord of the heater into the outlet. If power light is on the ON position, the heater is working to maintain set aquarium temperature. If the power light is on the OFF position, the heater has automatically shutoff after reaching set water temperature.
5. After a few hours, check the water temperature with an accurate thermometer, if needed, adjust the temperature setting on the heating unit to achieve desired aquarium water temperature.
CAUTION!!!
  1. Fully submerse heater into water.  Never expose any portion of the heater to air.  The exposed portion of heater may burn out and malfunction.  Titanium heater are not recommended for canister filter and heater module.  Whenever you change the water in your system, you must turn the heater off until the water change is completed.
  2. Never expose the thermo sensor to air. Exposure will produce inaccurate water temperature reading and cause heater to unnecessarily heat water according to the incorrect thermo sensor reading.
  3. Never place the heater under gravel.  This will hinder even heat dissipation.
  4. Never place the thermo sensor rear the heating tube.  It will cause inaccurate control of the water temperature.  Place the thermo sensor at least 12 inches (1 foot) away from the heating tube.
  5. Whenever putting any kinds of electrical devise into your aquarium, whether, it is water pump, heater etc, it is advised that all aquarium be grounded with a proper grounding probe.  If not, possible electrical shock may occur

SAFETY   INSTRUCTION

1. Do not operate the heater outside of water

2. To prevent possible electric shock, unplug heater before placing your hands in water

3. If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with proper rating  to avoid overheating

4. For proper operation, the heater tube should be positioned in a vertical or horizontal position in the water at all times.

5. Do not operated the heater if the cord or heating tube is damaged in any way.  The heater must be discarded.  Do not attempt to repair the unit.

6. Unplug the heater during water change or when removing the unit from water for maintenance.  Wait at least 10 minutes for the heater to cool before removing from water.

7. Make sure that your electrical voltage is the same as the voltage listed on the label of the heater.

8. To avoid water contact to the heater plug or electric outlet, use a "drip loop" as shown below
